We are pleased to announce that SECESPOL successfully passed ASME certification audit and received recommendations to obtain U and UM stamp. It will allow our company to design and produce pressure vessels as well as heat exchangers according to ASME sec. VIII div.1.

ASME certificate is granted by American Society of Mechanical Engineers to companies producing pressure devices. ASME provisions contain guidelines for design, materials, manufacturing and inspections of pressure devices.

Way to obtain ASME certificate is not easy. Company, which wish to mark it's devices with ASME stamp, should prepare and implement inspection book and examination procedures. Then presentation for ASME representatives should be prepared. On this basis ASME auditors make decision if product will correspond with current regulations. Adapting to ASME requirements lasts about one year. In the next step during the pre-audit conducted by ASME inspector, company apply for a stamp. In response, after few months, ASME sends representative once again to company, who conduct two-day audit with inspector.

Audit took place in our company on 27-28th of July and ended successfully.

To maintain ASME certificate, company should work in accordance with strict standards described in quality control book. Audits are conducted every three year. Inspections of devices are always executed by ASME inspector. Additionally, Authorised Inspection Agency conducts control audit of company every year.

In most cases, Polish companies producing to UE countries have to apply European standards or domestic regulations and additionally meet the requirements of the Directive 97/23/EC for pressure equipment. ASME regulations should be applied in production for outside European markets. They can be also used on European markets, however producers should fulfil requirements of pressure vessels directive at the same time. Equipment is marked by ASME and CE stamp then.

ASME regulations are conducted in majority countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. In USA and Canada those requirements are obligatory.

There are several companies in Poland which obtained ASME stamp with U-sign. SECESPOL is the one and only company in Poland granted ASME certificate with UM-sign.
